Yagaikyoryu Museum, Japan’s largest excavation site, is responsible for the majority of dinosaur discoveries in Japan, including the discovery of five new dinosaur species, and has been designated as a Natural Monument of Japan.
Located about 20 minutes away from the main museum, this “outdoor dinosaur museum” is accessible only by a special, optional tour bus. Adults and children alike will enjoy seeing an actual excavation site up close. All optional tour participants can try their hand at digging for fossils with the same equipment used by real paleontologists.
