Nearly 200 years old, the former Tamura Family Residence is one of a few remaining or restored samurai houses whose residents served their master in Echizen Ono Castle, located atop Kameyama Hill. Visitors will find this restored house at the northeast footsteps of the hill, and are sure to enjoy a short tour of the house during a relaxing town walk.
As you compare the samurai residence with the castle above, you will notice that while not as spacious as the fortress overlooking the entirety of Ono City, the house was a suitable home for hardworking servants.
Be sure to stop by as you explore Ono City’s castle, old homes, natural freshwater springs, and other historical areas!
